What’s the difference between TFP, Workshops, & Group Photoshoots?

They’re all great opportunities to learn! Personally, I think 1:1 TFP is better after a group photoshoot or workshop. This is because there’s a lot more coordination needed for TFP and early on - taking as many photos as possible in different scenarios is the best way to learn your camera and how to approach different environments.

  • TFP (Time for Print) in an older time when you would exchange physical prints for the models time. Often a little more 1x1: These can be in the form of a group photoshoot, but often times it’s one person coming up with the idea and subsequent execution.

  • Workshops: Educational Focused. These are often focused on a particular set up or skill. This category can really vary. Sometimes it’s more about getting new knowledge than experimenting, but there are usually opportunities to snap some photos. Often they are very stylized making it easier to show up and take a great photo.

  • Group Photoshoots There’s a lot of pros and cons for group photoshoots, but it is a great opportunity to network with other creatives. More on this one here!
